Its Knit Unusual |
A collection of things i've knitted/crochet'd or made from patterns or my own designs. Somewhere to keep my crafts together... |
clutchcrushmusic-deactivated201 asked: I bought some yarn and crocheting needles and I'm having a really tough time just doing a chain stitch. I finally got the slipknot down, but I can't seem to make a chain stitch correctly. It seems like each stitch is either bigger or smaller than the last. Got any advice?
you’ve just got to try and keep your gauge the same. ie: not pulling too tightly or not leaving it too loose.
its also worth checking whether the yarn you have is the right weight for the size of hook you have. ie: thinner yarn with a fatter hook means it will have more gaps. Using a thinner hook will close those gaps a little.
here’s a great website with tips for beginners that i regularly use to remind myself.
